An evening of performance and dialogue by queer people of colour for Black History Month

Join us for a dynamic evening of dialogue and performance highlighting the cultural contributions of African-Canadians who identify as queer (LGBT) through music, spoken word, dance, performance art and an engaging panel discussion.

Extraordinary co-hosts Naomi Abiola and Twysted welcome featured guests including: singer/songwriter Ashley Bea & THE FLOW, recording artist TROY!, actor Sedina Fiati, playwright/poet Kwame Stephens, dancer Joy Adjemian, burlesques performer Coco La Crème, poet Kirk DeMatas, comedian Zena Lord, singer Ryan Graham Hinds, drag performer Jada Hudson and DJ Dickie.

The showcase will close with an open mic and will be preceded by a panel discussion focused on encouraging the creation of Black queer art and culture in Toronto. Panelists include DJ Nik Red, Travoyintheflesh and Polly of PollyPerryCo (TBC).

This Black History Month installation of the popular, monthly open mic nite series will engage and entertain allies while highlighting cultural and social issues relevant in Canada and internationally.
